WATER SKI CODE OF CONDUCT
Waterskiing in Langstone Harbour is strictly under licence for members of the LHWSA. Waterski licences can be obtained from the Harbour office. To obtain your licence you must present your LHWSA membership card, and proof of insurance. Insurance must cover third party risks to the value of at least £2,000,000 and include waterskiing.
Waterskiing is only permitted in a certain area of Langstone Harbour, this area being clearly marked with yellow buoys. In addition skiing is only allowed between the hours of sunrise and sunset on safety grounds. A one way system operates in the waterski area, all vessels towing a skier must travel anticlockwise, and licensed club members may only exceed the Harbour’s 10 knot speed limit while they are actually towing a skier. Due to the environmental sensitivities of Langstone Harbour waterskiing is only allowed between 1 April and 31 October.
